Japanese Sakura (cherry blossom) Mochi

I've been wanting to make Sakura Mochi so badly since early March and I finally made it today!! Sakura mochi is a type of wagashi (Japanese traditional sweets) and there are variations, I made the Kanto (tokyo) style sakura mochi made of a piece of mini- crepe like mochi sheet wrapped around red sweet bean paste. A fragrant sakura leaf has a delicate texture and distinct flavor that creates spring taste.
